Tom Barrett - Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Tom, a twenty year veteran of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) retired in 2005 with the rank of Sergeant-Detective to assume operational and corporate responsibility at SecureWatch24 (SW24). In 1997, Tom was designated the first Commanding Officer of the Regional Fugitive Task Force, the nation's premier Joint Federal Fugitive Apprehension Team under the auspices of NYPD's Fugitive Enforcement Division, within the Detective Bureau. Tom earned appointment to this elite position supervising distinguished federal and local investigators/ agents and, ultimately, promotion to Sergeant-SDS designation while reporting directly to the Commanding Officer of the renowned City-wide Warrant Division since 1995.

Tom, who is considered one of the most recognized and decorated NYPD officers in recent decades, supervised high profile and often confidential assignments while assigned to the Deputy Commissioner of Operations and Crime Control Strategy within the Office of the Police Commissioner in the early 1990's. Prior to these distinctive assignments, Tom supervised uniformed and plain-clothed patrol functions primarily while assigned to Washington Heights and Crown Heights NYPD Commands in Manhattan and Brooklyn, respectively. Tom's readily acknowledges that his most "formative" law enforcement experience occurred while assigned to similar patrol functions, focused on violent street crime reduction, within Central Harlem during the late 1980's and the turn of that decade. Tom has earned both B.S. and M.A. degrees, and has taught at the high school level for several years before deciding to pursue his lifelong dream within NYPD.

Tom has been awarded two Combat Crosses in addition to numerous Police Commendations and Civic Citations, many of which entailed significant positive press and publicity. His recognition of and respect for the inspirational leadership and exemplary fellowship he experienced throughout his professional law enforcement career, in tandem with extensive employment within the Real Estate and Property Management Security venue empower Tom as he provides leadership for SecureWatch24 Management Team into the future.
